Family policies

What families ask us before a first day.

Photos of your child

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.

When to keep your child home

A child with a fever, vomiting or a contagious illness stays home and comes back after a full day of being well. Shift work makes that hard, so call us early and Elieser helps you plan. If your child gets sick here, we call you and a teacher stays with your child until you arrive.

Drop-off and pickup

A teacher meets you at the room door at every drop-off and pickup. We release a child only to the people on your written list and ask for ID from anyone we don't know. Tell us ahead when someone new is coming.

Late pickup

If your shift runs over, call or text. Your child stays with a teacher they know, and a lead teacher stays until the last child has gone home at 11:30 p.m. If it happens often, Elieser talks with you about a different shift.

Meals, snacks and allergies

First-shift children have breakfast and lunch, and second-shift children have a snack and supper. Tell us what your child eats at home, and about any allergy at the tour; we ask again in private once you enroll.

Naps and safe sleep

Infants sleep on their backs, in their own cots, with nothing else in the cot. Older children rest on a mat after lunch, and second-shift children have a quiet hour after supper.

Closures for weather and holidays

Honeybun closes for a few holidays, and we post them in the lobby each fall. When snow closes the roads, we text families before first shift begins and again if the plan changes.

Leaving the program

Please give two weeks' notice in writing so we can offer the place to the next family on the list. A week already underway is billed as booked.
